One of the most exciting cultural happenings in the Chicago area will take place when the Tony-award-winning play Red premiers at the Goodman Theater which deals with a particular period in the life of American artist Mark Rothko. Please join art historian Jeff Mishur for the lecture Seeing Red: The Art and Life of Mark Rothko, as he discusses Rothko’s paintings and mural projects. Mishur will situate Rothko’s work in the context of post-World War II American art.
