Second Saturday Readers - Extraordinary, Ordinary People
Attend LVDL’s Adult Book Discussion at 10:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month. Books are available at the Circulation Desk the month prior to the discussion. Refreshments are served and all are welcome to attend.
October’s selection is “Extraordinary, Ordinary People: a Memoir of Family” by Condoleezza Rice. The story of Condoleezza Rice—her early years growing up in the hostile environment of Birmingham, Alabama; her rising in the ranks at Stanford University to become the university’s second-in-command and an expert in Soviet and Eastern European Affairs; and finally, in 2000, her appointment as the first black woman ever to serve as Secretary of State.Read more >
