Sunday, August 17, 2014 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm
Known as the “Father of the Atomic Age” Albert Einstein unveiled a universe with black holes, dark matter, and dark energy, yet most people know little of his views on religion or his disdain of materialism, racism, militarism, and nationalism. He spoke passionately for a just society and one united human family, rising above prejudices and hatred yet these deeply held beliefs often conflicted with the science he was pioneering. Though a devout pacifist, it was his recommendation to FDR that propelled the Manhattan Project which led to the Atom bomb.
