Join us for a book discussion just for grades 7 to 12. Read the book, come discuss what you liked (or didn’t!) about The Haunting of Sunshine Girl by Paige McKenzie, and have some snacks. Copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk.
(Grades 5-8) Join us for Battle of the Books, a trivia competition for 5-8th graders! We’ll meet once a month to practice for our final competition in March. If you’d like to participate in Battle, this orientation meeting is mandatory--we will form teams, assign books, and learn the rules. Please note, the newsletter lists the incorrect time for this program. It is being held from 7:15-8:15pm. We apologize for the error.
(Open to all ages) Join us for wizarding games, crafts and treats as we celebrate 20 magical years of Harry Potter! Muggles, wizards and witches of all ages are welcome to this drop-in celebration. Bring a new pair of socks to help free Dobby! Sock donations will be given to PADS, the homeless shelter system for Lake County.
(Open to all ages) Help us ring in the New Year! At this event, children can have their own celebration without staying up past their bedtimes. We'll celebrate with stories, dancing, crafting, snack, and an all-out celebration at 12 noon!
Come videogame with us as we break out the major systems. Eat snacks, meet people, and play the new games we installed on the consoles. Feel free to bring your 3DS and Yu-Gi-Oh cards to battle each other too!
In need of an interesting character? With just a little creativity, you can create an alien that’s out of this world! You’ll also see how you can pose the body in any position such as jumping, running, or even flying. Once you know the tricks to drawing bodies, your characters will be a little more believable!
