Come videogame with us as we break out the major systems. Eat snacks, meet people, and play the new games we installed on the consoles. Feel free to bring your 3DS and Yu-Gi-Oh cards to battle each other too!

Teen & Tween Gaming Drop-In

Tuesday, November 7, 2017 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm
Hang out and play Wii on the big screen, or our PS4 and XBOX One in our teen area. Bring your own devices to play Minecraft together, your DS/3DS to battle each other, or your Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh cards! Drinks and snacks provided! Drop-in for grades 4 to 12.

Dementia Twenty-Four Seven

Wednesday, October 25, 2017 - 1:30pm to 3:30pm
Dementia Twenty-Four Seven is a simulation program designed to imitate what it feels like to be frustrated, confused, isolated and lost. This interactive program, presented by Chris Damon of CareSmart Illinois, will describe the cognitive challenges faced by people with dementia as well as help develop empathy in the care of dementia patients.

Bring your lunch! We provide the guest speaker, dessert and coffee! Enjoy a 200-mile trek across the north of England with an international cast of amblers, ramblers and scramblers. Take in the scenery, adventure and sociability of the famed Coast to Cast Path extending from the Irish Sea to the North Sea via the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors, and a bonus side trip up England's highest peak, Scafell Pike.

Do You Live in a Sears House?

Kit homes---well-designed, practical and made from top quality materials---were marketed from 1906-1982 by nine different companies. These houses were usually not distinctive architectural designs but copies of the most popular styles of the day; customers were encouraged to personalize their order by moving windows, doors or built in cabinetry. Learn about the phenomenon of kit homes from author, researcher and lecturer Rebecca Hunter.
