Breaking the Code: Bully Prevention Simulation

With nearly half of all middle school students reporting being bullied, it’s no doubt that bullying is recognized as a very serious problem for today’s youth. Cindy Sarkady, U of I Extension Educator, conducts this workshop and guided discussion to give a visual understanding of the social hierarchy of bullying, how bullying is tolerated and how individuals can respond to improve the social climate of their school and community.

Join us for an hour of relaxing doodling. After a brief introduction and four different doodle lessons, complete your choice of three different projects. If you have a favorite pen, bring it with you but all materials will be provided. Registration is required.

Create and experience art in a group setting! If you draw or paint at home, join us for a new program at the library that combines creativity and community. Bring your materials and your passion to work side by side with others. Please register. No oils please. Ages 14+.

Eureka: Wetland Wonders

Nature lovers in Grades 3-8 and their parents are invited to join us as we explore the wetlands behind our Library. Wear appropriate clothing to walk the trails near the wetlands and don’t forget to apply sunscreen and insect repellant!


Wednesday, April 22, 2015 - 4:30pm to 6:30pm
Celebrate Earth Day and help save the planet by making a recycled book tote out of used grocery bags! All supplies are provided, but if you have a favorite crochet hook, bring it along. This program is limited to patrons from Grades 6- 12. Registration is limited and required.
