Incorporating breathtaking, full-color images taken by recent unmanned space probes, the lecture reveals some of the strangest terrains and most alien environments imaginable. Special emphasis is laid on the difference between the ‘planetary twins’ Earth and Venus—why one became a magnificent home for life, while the other evolved into a nightmarish world with a pressure-cooker atmosphere, sulfuric acid rain, and a barren, tortured landscape. Charles Dawes - 100th Anniversary WWI: The Great War

Charles Dawes speaks in detail with photos and maps about the politics and alliances of the world that then exploded into the maelstrom of WWI. He tells stories of the British, French, Lloyd George, Clemanceau, Kaiser Wilhelm, Czar Nicholas. He recounts American successes at the battles of Cantigny, 2nd Marne, Chateau Thierry, Belleau Wood and St. Miheil. Dawes delightedly describes his famed “Hell and Maria” speech to Congress railing against pin head politicians who criticized war time spending to gain political advantage. After his testimony, the committee disbanded.
