Peenemunde, Germany was the testing ground for Nazi Germany’s V-1 and V-2 rockets. When rockets were launched from there in 1942 and reached space, it marked the beginning of space exploration. Derek Monroe, Lake County-based international journalist and writer, visited Peenemunde in March and will share details of his trip.
