Voter Registration Drive

Tuesday, September 25, 2018 - 9:30am to 8:00pm
LVDL is holding a day-long voter registration drive! If you are a U.S. Citizen and will be 18 years old on or before November 6, 2018, you are eligible to vote in the general election. To register to vote, you will need two acceptable forms of identification; one with a photo and at least one must list your current physical address. Also, you must have resided at that address for 30 days. For more information call 847.245.5115.

The importance of an informed electorate cannot be understated, because an informed voter can make logical decisions. However, can civics be civil? Enjoyable? Or even fun? Absolutely. Join Terry Lynch for an enjoyable and fun look at civics.

Pressure Cooking 101 $3

Instant Pots and other pressure cookers have made a come back on the cooking scene. Join Andrea Pracht of My Kitchen Clatter for a demonstration on what all the talk is about. Whether you’ve been pressure cooking for years or just thinking about it, you’ll learn something from this class. Andrea will be making butternut squash risotto and chocolate lava cakes. There is a $3 fee to attend. Please register in person at the Adult Reference Desk.
