Grapes & Growlers is the Lake Villa District Library Foundation's annual winter event. Wine & Craft Beer Tastings (courtesy of Antioch Fine Wine & Liquors)--- raffles chances and top-notch entertainment: John Primer and The Real Deal Blues Band will be performing. Gather your friends for a fun night at the library. $5 cover charge/Must be 21+ to attend.

Whole Grains and Breads Baking Demo

Incorporating whole grains into our diets can help increase fiber, B vitamins, and minerals. In this class, we will discuss ways to incorporate whole grains into our diet while we bake whole grain wheat bread from scratch. We will even be milling our own flour! Whether you are a seasoned baker or want to learn a new skill, this demo will have something for everyone.

Cooking Connoisseurs

(Grades 4-6) Interested in cooking? We’ll make a recipe from a cookbook and get inspired to try more at home! Please register. Ingredients that we'll use are: ketchup, apple cider vinegar, sugar, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, kosher salt, mustard seeds, powdered mustard, tomato sauce or juice, oil. Possible options: Worchestershire sauce, paprika, chile flakes, turmeric.

She took his place, ran the paper and transformed The Washington Post into notable, established newspaper. Join historian Jim Gibbons for a look at Grahams’ rise to fame in the wake of Watergate , her decision to publish the Pentagon Papers and how she became the first woman to head a Fortune 500 Company.
