Clara Kensie Visit

Monday, May 5, 2014 - 5:30pm to 6:30pm
Enjoy a fabulous hour of writing workshop time with Clara Kensie, the author of the Run to You Trilogy as she teaches us the ins and outs of GMC: Goal, Motivation, Conflict. It's the building block of everything that happens in the story world: what the characters want, why they want it, and what's stopping them from getting it. We'll have fun analyzing the GMCs of the characters from The Wizard of Oz and a popular YA novel such as The Hunger Games, and, if there's time, the aspiring authors in the audience can develop GMCs for their own characters.

Writers Cafe

Thursday, June 5, 2014 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Join our very own teen writers’ workshop where we offer each other encouragement, inspiration, and support on our writing projects. Bring whatever project you are currently working on or we will give you a few ideas for something new. Refreshments are served.

The Bully Plays

Saturday, April 26, 2014 - 9:30am to 10:30am
This year, the Studio Theatre class will be presenting The Bully Plays. This is a collection of short (5-10 minute) plays that relate to ideas of bullying. It is an intriguing, provocative collection of plays that is making its way across the country. It is geared for high school students and their families.

Mother's Day Project

Wednesday, May 7, 2014 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm
This year's project is beautiful, but you have to come to Adult Services to see it. We don't want any of the Moms seeing it before their special day! Don't miss this opportunity to show your mom how much you love her!

Monday, May 5, 2014 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm
If you're a teen in grades 7 through 12, we want to hear from you! Become a member of the LVDL Teen Advisory Board. This is your chance to shape the services we provide to teens, earn volunteer hours and make new friends! Please register.
