(Grades 1-3) A dog is a great listener, particularly when you’re practicing reading out loud. Kids are paired with a certified therapy dog (and their handler) to read for 15-minute sessions. Registration for this program begins Monday, February 18. Please register in person or call 847.245.5116.
(Open to all ages) The whole family is encouraged to join us as we watch an episode of Mister Roger’s Neighborhood, discuss it, and then do a hands-on activity fitting with the theme. No registration required.
(Open to ages 0-15 months) Join us for a fun, interactive experience for you and your baby! You'll learn how rhymes, songs, stories and play can build your little one's early literacy skills. Please note: We ask that you bring only the registered child, as we want to make this program safe and fun for your baby. Please register--your registration covers the full 3-week session.
(Grades 4-6) Novel Thoughts is all about reading great books and talking about them with others. (There are snacks, too!) In February we'll be discussing Takedown by Laura Shovan. Copies are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk. Please register.
