In this lecture, art historian Jeff Mishur of Art Excursions, Inc. will be discussing a selection of European art from the late Renaissance and early Baroque eras. Mishur will be focusing on art created during Shakespeare’s lifetime, 1564-1616, which corresponds to one of the most exciting periods in the history of art. This is a period when accepted Renaissance practices gave way to radical Baroque innovations. Artists discussed include Caravaggio, Frans Hals, Rubens, and Tintoretto, among others.
