Lake Villa District Library Seeks Local Artists to Enhance Facility

In an effort to enhance the new library facility and to promote the work of artists living in Lake Villa Township, Lake Villa District Library is seeking proposals from local artists.

Artists who work in a variety of media---painting on canvas and paper, textiles and photography---are invited to submit proposals for consideration. The only stipulation: they need to live in Lake Villa Township.

“This is an opportunity for the artists of this community to participate in enhancing the beauty and impact of the new building,” said Kate Rettinger, LVDL Board of Trustee Secretary. “We look forward to seeing the work they submit.”

Rettinger, along with board member Pat Gallagher, two area artists and two library staff members, comprise the committee that will review submissions.

The new library building, which opened in August of 2019, is 66,000 square feet, has stunning views and plenty of natural light.

Artists who would like to be considered should send three photographs of representative work along with a resume to artcommittee@lvdl.org Application deadline is June 30, 2021.

Lake Villa District Library enriches life in our community by connecting people to information, resources and each other.
