Lake Villa District Library set the wheels in motion on the process to design and develop a master plan for the library’s outdoor areas. The Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Landscape Architectural Services was approved at the September 13, 2021 Board of Trustees meeting.
Developing the library’s green space is a component of the recently approved three-year strategic plan. “A point that shined through the data gathering component of the strategic planning process was the community’s strong desire to better utilize our beautiful outdoor spaces”, said Library Director Mick Jacobsen. “The RFQ is the first step in making that happen.”
Included in the project’s scope of work are the potential for native planting areas; an outdoor storybook garden; structures and spaces for gathering and learning as well as adding additional spaces to enjoy the picturesque setting and other ideas generated through community feedback.
The RFQ is available here. Interested Landscape Architects have until Friday, October 15, 2021 to submit qualifications.
Lake Villa District Library enriches lives by connecting people with resources, services, spaces and each other.
