Lake Villa District Library to host Walter Payton Exhibit

Lake Villa District Library is proud to present A Picture is Worth 1000 Yards: Sports Photography of Walter Payton, a traveling exhibition on loan from the Dunn Museum.

The exhibition celebrates the life and achievements of Chicago Bear Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton through photographs and stories submitted by professional sports photographers from around the county. The resulting images stand as a visual testament to the great skill, driving passion, and sweet nature of Payton, as well as to the art of sports photography.

LVDL Board of Trustees Moves Ahead With Outdoor Space Project

The Lake Villa District Library Board of Trustees has selected the first project of the library’s outdoor space plan: enhancing the hospitality and function of the main entrance area with the addition of seating and shaded areas.

The LVDL Board approved the outdoor space plan in May and then began prioritizing and selecting particular projects. Because so many people utilize the library’s many current seating options, adding more made the sense for the inaugural project.

Summer is Sweet at Lake Villa District Library

Nearly 2700 people are participating in Lake Villa District Library’s 2023 Summer Reading Program, Sweet Summer. And the program has only just begun!

People of all ages are reading (or being read to)  for chances to win great prizes. By setting a goal of reading a certain number of minutes each day for 60 days and tracking progress along the way, they’re making reading a daily habit.
