Chicago Tribune Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Mary Schmich will discuss her book, Even the Terrible Things Seem Beautiful to Me Now: On Hope, Loss, and Wearing Sunscreen on Monday, April 12 at 6pm, on Zoom.

In an effort to enhance the new library facility and to promote the work of artists living in Lake Villa Township, Lake Villa District Library is seeking proposals from local artists.

Artists who work in a variety of media---painting on canvas and paper, textiles and photography---are invited to submit proposals for consideration. The only stipulation: they need to live in Lake Villa Township.

Lake Villa District Library Expands Hours

Beginning Monday, February 15, Lake Villa District Library will expand hours to: Monday –Thursday 9am –7pm; Friday 9am –6pm; Saturday 9am –5pm; Sunday 1 –5pm.

Visits are limited to one-hour per person, per day, and all library safety mitigations will remain in place. Public computers and Notary Service will be available.

“We are happy to be expanding hours,” said Library Director Mikael Jacobsen. “Seeing our patrons safely and in person is wonderful!”
